SEGA SATURN VIDEO CARDS- THE VIDEO CARD BONANZA ROUNDUP #1 FANCY

Woo hoo! PSX video on saturn!

Sega Saturn has the ability to play MPEG1 video with an add on card. This delivers video roughly on the level with the playstation. Excited...? Well.. there were less games that supported the MPEG card than a four fingered, one armed man could count. However, Lunar MPEG is one of them, so that's why we actually give a damn about this expensive add on...

HOWEVER. . .

Given how Saturn's design goes against almost all standards of engineering... There was of course more than one card..... for the same function.

First, a little history.

Sega made saturn.                      So did JVC.                       And Hitachi.

Confused? I sure as hell was. Well, seems JVC wanted to shoot itself in the foot again, just  like they did with their Genesis / Cd combo "wondermega". Wondermega only cost "wonderbux". Same with the JVC saturn. Nothing added, just cost.

Hitachi made the most WICKED SATURN KNOWN TO MAN. The Hi-Saturn. More on that later...

So, given brand "strength" (read weakness) in Japan, each manufacturer wouldn't be caught dead without their own brand of MPEG card! Even the pirates in Hong Kong got in the act!

Let the stupidity begin!
